Adding a Nitrogen into an organic system doesn't weaken the bonding of the system at all. Yet, the new atom only makes three bonds and has a lone pair. THe carbon nitrogen bond has some polarity but the bond is very strong. Therefore, we won't be breaking any carbon nitrogen bonds easily. However, making them is easy. Naming them is very similar to alcohols accept we add the ending "amine" rather than "ol".
Making amines, reacting amines, and naming amines is what we will do. I will also begin to add in the biochemistry parallels to make it fun.
